This guide will try to explain how to
import a previously made CSV file from Desktop
Calendar into Microsoft Outlook 2000. It was
written using the version of Outlook 2000
on my computer, I can't guarantee every step will be
the same on your machine. Use this guide at your own risk. In the unlikely event of any data loss occurring
or your events getting messed up, then I will not be held responsible. If you don't agree with this then
please don't continue.
Step 1
Start Outlook and go to 'File' -> 'Import
and Export'.

Step 2
A Wizard will open to guide you through the
process. Choose 'Import from another program or file' and click
'Next'.

Step 3
Select 'Comma Separated Values
(Windows)' and
click 'Next'.

Step 4
Click the 'Browse...' button and select
the file you want to import. Keep the option 'Allow duplicates to be
created' selected and click 'Next'.

Step 5
Select 'Calendar' from the drop down list and
click 'Next'.

Step 6
We now need to check Outlook is going to
include the necessary fields in the import. Click on 'Map Custom
Fields...'.

Step 7
All you need to do here is check to see that
all the values on the left match up with the corresponding values on
the right. 'Subject' with 'Subject' etc. If they are not lined up properly
then you fix this by dragging the values across. When your done, click
'OK'.

Step 8
You will return to the window you left in
Step 6. To complete the Import process, click 'Finish'. Wait a moment for Outlook to
load the file
and.....your done!

NOTE: As the events from Desktop Calendar
don't have Subject headers in order for Outlook to read the file properly
the title 'Desktop Calendar' is used as the subject for all the
imported events.
